Dr. W. Stanley Rule, M.D. F.A.A.P.

Dr. Rule grew up in Winston-Salem and earned undergraduate and medical degrees from U.N.C.  before studying pediatrics and adolescent medicine at the Children's Hospital at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.  After beginning practice in Kinston in 1976, Dr. Rule relocated to Carteret County in 1983.  The beauty of local nature and the spirit of the people in the area drew him here and continues to enrich his joy of life.  His wife, Penny, currently practices oncology massage therapy while she nears completion of her degree in Classical Chinese Medicine.  Dr. Rule has a beautiful family, John and Brooke Rule, Amy and Jay Blount; with children Olivia and Alexander, and Ryan Johnson.  The practice of pediatrics continues to be enjoyed much like a hobby but Dr. Rule also enjoys boating, kayaking, water bird photography and carving, and studying nature.  He is active in the Core Sound Decoy Carvers Guild and is a volunteer for Rachel Carson Reserve in Beaufort.  Through many aspects of the practice, he hopes to pass along his love and reverence for nature to our patients as we promote their optimal health and well-rounded progress to adulthood.

Phinizy Sheets, PA-C

I am a graduate of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program after receiving a BA at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  I have practiced medicine since 1986 as a physician assistant in primary care practicing for the past ten years in eastern North Carolina, joining Dr. Rule in 2007.

I also have been active in precepting and mentoring both physician assistant and medical school students at Wake Forest University and East Carolina University throughout my career.  I also continue to be involved with a medical clinic in Mahango Village, Tanzania that I helped set up and continue to support its sustainability.  Besides the amazing fulfilling privilege of taking care of children, I enjoy cooking, studying nutrition, and exercising in the gorgeous outdoors of our coast.  My other passions include promoting wellness and mindfulness for both the present and future of healthcare and our environment.  Being a part of this practice allows me to do that very thing. I am married and have wonderful healthy children of my own and a precious companion who is brown curly haired dog!

Why Phin likes working here:

"I am excited to be part of one of the finest pediatric practices in our state.  I hope to provide quality healthcare with compassion, while promoting a sense of wellness in practicing the art, as well as the science, of medicine.  My wish is to empower parents and their children with the knowledge to maintain their wellness and happiness for a lifetime.  I feel Dr. Rule and Jada and I are a very strong team and always have your child's well being as our primary concern."

Jada Taylor, NP-C

Jada Taylor joined our practice in February of 2014 to further pursue her love of taking care of children.  She worked in Labor and Delivery, Newborn Nursery and Postpartum care for twelve years.  Ten of those years were served here locally at Carteret Health Care.

She is a native of Lumberton, N.C.  She started her nursing career with an Associates Degree in Nursing.  Five years later she achieved her personal goal of obtaining her BSN through East Carolina University.  He love of providing compassionate care for people was driving force to further her nursing education and career.  She completed her MSN and became a Family Nurse Practitioner through ECU in 2012.

Jada is married with 2 children. In her spare time she enjoys being a mom, hunting with her family, playing softball, and other outdoor activities.
